Commander Sonia Russell of the 9th Precinct and Patti Kukula, Executive Director of the Detroit Public Safety Foundation, presented a $5000 check to the American Cancer Society. The funds were collected by Detroit Police Officers at locations throughout the city including Little Caesars Arena, featuring a Scout car specially detailed in pink to raise awareness of breast cancer.
The donation will be used by ACS to fund research and assist treatment of cancer patients within the city of Detroit. The American Cancer Society is a nationwide voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer.
