St. Louis Musician Brings Cardinals Spirit on MLB Opening Day, Despite No Games

Are you having the blues because it’s Opening Day in MLB and there’s no Cardinals baseball action? You’re not the only one feeling the pain.

Fox2Now and 590 The Fan KNFS sports broadcaster Charlie Marlow attempted to bring a little bit of the baseball spirit Thursday afternoon via Twitter.

“We’re all missing Cardinals baseball on what should’ve been Opening Day,” Marlow said. “So my next door neighbor, talented musician [Taylor Streiff], wants to bring you all some “Here Comes the King.” Marlow would share the video as part of the post.

MLB’s social media team noticed the video. One short, simple remark: “This makes us feel like we are in the ballpark! [hand clap emoji]”

There was praise aplenty for the post. The theme music is usually played when the Budweiser Clydesdale horses enter Busch Stadium on Opening Day during their first homestand. The following is from Opening Day 2019, courtesy of Fox Sports Midwest:

Thank you, Taylor, for bringing a little bit of peppiness to our day mostly void of sports. Most of all, thank you, Charlie, for bringing this to social media.
