LAFAYETTE, Ga. (MWSN) — The Gilmer Bobcats (3-3, 1-1 AAA Region 7) travel to LaFayette to take on the struggling Ramblers (0-7, 0-3 AAA Region 7) in a crucial region matchup on Friday, October 11, at 7:30 p.m. at Jack King Stadium.
Gilmer is coming off a strong 35-20 victory over Heritage, bouncing back after two straight losses. Led by a balanced offensive attack, the Bobcats will look to keep their momentum going against a LaFayette team that has struggled defensively, allowing 263 points across seven games.
Gilmer High Bobcats vs. LaFayette High Ramblers

The Ramblers, still in search of their first win, are anchored by senior quarterback K. Finley, who has been a dual threat for LaFayette, passing for 620 yards and rushing for 353 yards. Finley will need a big performance to help LaFayette snap their seven-game losing streak and challenge Gilmer’s defense, which has given up 169 points this season.
Despite LaFayette’s struggles, they have shown flashes of potential in close losses to Ridgeland (28-23) and Gordon Lee (28-23), proving they can be competitive when they execute. The Ramblers will look to capitalize on those lessons as they prepare for this important region matchup.
For Gilmer, a win would improve their playoff hopes as they look to climb the region standings. The Bobcats have scored 156 points this season but have been inconsistent on the road, where they hold a 1-2 record.
LaFayette will need to tighten up defensively and capitalize on their offensive opportunities if they hope to challenge Gilmer in front of their home crowd. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at LaFayette High School.
