PHILADELPHIA, Penn. (MWSN) — In a highly anticipated Week 15 matchup, the Philadelphia Eagles showcased their dominance in a 27-13 victory over the Pittsburgh Steelers at Lincoln Financial Field, extending their winning streak to a franchise-record 10 games. While the Steelers fell short on the field, they still clinched a playoff berth thanks to losses by the Miami Dolphins and Indianapolis Colts.

The Eagles (12-2), tied for the best record in the NFC with the Detroit Lions, executed a complete team performance, led by quarterback Jalen Hurts. Hurts was nearly flawless, completing 25 of 32 passes for 290 yards and two touchdowns, while adding 45 rushing yards and a score on the ground. Wide receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith torched the Steelers’ secondary, combining for 19 catches, 219 yards, and two touchdowns.

“We’re not satisfied,” said Brown, who hauled in eight receptions for 110 yards and a touchdown. “We’re trying to find ways to keep getting better and growing.”

The Eagles set the tone early with a no-huddle offense, scoring 17 points on their first three possessions. Hurts connected with Brown on a 5-yard touchdown pass and found Smith in the red zone for a 2-yard score, giving Philadelphia a commanding 17-3 lead. The defense suffocated Pittsburgh’s offense, holding the Steelers to just 163 total yards and dominating time of possession, 39:52 to 20:08.

The Steelers (10-4) battled back late in the first half, with Russell Wilson orchestrating an 11-play, 75-yard drive capped by an 8-yard touchdown pass to tight end Pat Freiermuth. Chris Boswell added a 49-yard field goal, cutting the Eagles’ lead to 17-13 at halftime. T.J. Watt provided a spark for the Steelers with two sacks and a forced fumble, becoming the first player in franchise history with six seasons of 10 or more sacks.

However, critical mistakes doomed Pittsburgh’s chances in the second half. A botched pitch from Wilson to Najee Harris ended a promising drive, with cornerback Darius Slay recovering the fumble. The Eagles capitalized on the turnover, extending their lead to 27-13 on a Hurts quarterback sneak early in the fourth quarter. Harris later admitted, “I took my eyes off it… I fumbled it.”

Despite the loss, the Steelers remain atop the AFC North, one game ahead of the Baltimore Ravens. “I wish we could celebrate the playoff berth with a win,” said Freiermuth. “We want to do big things in the postseason.”

Philadelphia’s defense shined once again, limiting Saquon Barkley to just 65 yards on 19 carries and forcing three turnovers. Linebacker Nakobe Dean led the unit with 10 tackles and a forced fumble, while Nolan Smith, Jr. and Josh Sweat each recorded key sacks on Wilson.

Head coach Mike Tomlin acknowledged the missed opportunities that plagued the Steelers. “We didn’t coach or play as well as we needed to. It’s a fine line at this level,” he said.

The Steelers will look to rebound next Saturday in a pivotal AFC North clash against the Ravens, while the surging Eagles continue their push for home-field advantage in the playoffs.
