After an injury in November 18th, 2018 that nearly cost Alex Smith his leg, and his life, the veteran QB is back under center. It only took him 694 days to return to the field during an NFL game.
Smith was listed as the teams backup quarterback after getting cleared to see action for the first time prior to Sunday’s game. Kyle Allen was shaken up, and sure enough, he grabbed his helmet.
“Alex Smith for the first time since November 18th of 2018 is back out here”
Alex Smith suffered a disturbing compound fracture back in 2018. The quarterback was rolled over and his leg bent into an awkward and upsetting shape.
He completed his first pass on the first play after entering the game but was sacked by Aaron Donald a couple plays later to end the drive. Check out the incredible moment below.
