The death of former Chargers and Buccaneers wide receiver Vincent Jackson shocked the sports world.ย Hillsborough County Sheriff, Chad Chronister, has unveiled the autopsy report showed Jackson suffered from chronic alcoholism.
Jackson was found dead Monday at a hotel in Brandon, Florida. He was just 38-years-old at the time of his death. Chronister did not say that alcohol directly caused Jacksonโs death.
According to the initial police report, Jackson had been staying at the hotel where he was found since January 11th. Jackson played for 12 season in the NFL.
“Vincent Jackson was arrested and convicted twice on DUI charges early in his NFL career with the Chargers, eventually suspended for three games for violating league conduct policies in 2010,” reported Greg Auman via Twitter.

Atman also indicated that there were no arrests in his eight-plus years in Tampa. Members of his family have told authorities they believe chronic alcoholism and lingering effects of concussions may have contributed to his death.
