The Spring Arbor University bowling teams closed out the 2022 calendar year at the Collegiate Shoot-Out held at the South Point Bowling Plaza in Las Vegas, Nevada. The SAU men’s team finished sixth in the 49-team field – which included some of the top teams in the nation – and were one of the eight teams that qualified for the event semifinals while the women’s squad placed 20th out of 29 teams.

MEN’S RESULTS
On day one, Spring Arbor finished with a score of 6088 after six team games to place 11th in the standings. Caleb Tate was the top individual for SAU, finishing 19th out of more than 400 bowlers posting a score of 1308 over six games with a high game of 259. Keegan Bradley averaged a 200 and totaled 1003 pins. The Cougars finished with a total score of 9358 following Wednesday’s Baker games to finish sixth in the qualifying standings and punch their ticket to the semifinals. SAU was one of eight teams to qualify for the semifinal round. Webber International University took home the team title.
WOMEN’S RESULTS
Spring Arbor recorded 5131 pins over six team games on Tuesday and sat in 19th place. Angelita Mireles, Savannah Bluemel and Devon Thomas finished in the half of the 206-player field. Mireles racked up 916 pins and averaged a 183 while Bluemel had 910 pins and Thomas finished with 884. The Cougars finished with a total score of 7912 following day two’s Baker games. The University of Saint Francis (Ill.) finished first in the championship match.
