The San Antonio Spurs are included in the NBA’s 22-team restart, but will be without star power forward LaMarcus Aldridge when play tips off in late July. The Spurs announced that Aldridge underwent surgery on his right shoulder, which will end his 2019-20 season. He played in just 53 games.
34-year-old Aldridge posted 18.9 points and 7.4 rebounds per game. Aldridge was San Antonio’s most effective weapon for scoring inside. The Spurs knew for some time that Aldridge’s season was done. The surgery was on April 24th.’
Losing one of the best inside-outside scoring big men in the game doesn’t look good for the Spurs in the postseason once basketball finally restarts. We’ll see if they can scrape something together without him.
The procedure was performed April 24, per the Spurs, so they’ve known for weeks that they wouldn’t have LaMarcus Aldridge when the season resumed. https://t.co/uOxSoIvQDp
