Adrian swept the Thunder in four meetings last season by a combined 27-5 score to improve to 9-0 in the all-time series. The Bulldogs eliminated Trine from the postseason with a 4-3 win at home in the 2020 NCHA Harris Cup Semifinals. Rex Moe scored twice and Ruffin added a goal in the comeback win as TU led 3-2 in the third period.
The Thunder are coached by Alex Todd who is 29-42-7 in three seasons at the school. In 11 seasons as a college head coach, he has a career record of 143-120-28. Last season, Trine was 13-12-3 overall and 10-7-3 for third place in the NCHA-South. The Thunder were 8-6-2 on the road.

Trine brings back its top-eight point-producers including Garrett Hallford and Brendan Prappas (both with 10+16=26), Justin Meers (6+12=18), Corey Robertson (6+10=16) and TJ Delaney (8+7=15) among others. Blake Robertson led TU defensemen in scoring with 3+8=11 totals.
Senior Aaron Brickman is the most experienced goaltender, having seen 109 minutes and 16 seconds of playing time between the pipes in 2019-20. He allowed 12 goals and posted an .857 save percentage. Shane Brancato (Lake Villa, Ill./Soo Eagles) and Elias Sandholm (Stockholm, Sweden/Cyclones) are the Thunder’s recruited freshmen goalies.

Adrian never trailed in a 5-3 defeat of the USNTDP U-18s during an exhibition contest last Saturday. Goberis scored a pair of goals, including the go-ahead tally early in the third period, and Gray made 29 saves. Besides Goberis, other newcomers to pick up a point included freshman F Connor May (goal), freshman F Emil Gabrielson (assist) and freshman D Jaden Shields (assist).
Junior Trevor Coykendall and sophomore Nick Lund joined Goberis with a two-point night on a goal and assist apiece versus the Americans.
Adrian is scheduled to return to the ice next weekend against Concordia University Wisconsin, hosting the Falcons on Thursday, Nov. 5 (7:05 p.m.), before making the trek to Mequon, Wis., on Saturday, Nov. 7 (6 p.m. Eastern/5 p.m. Central) for the back end of the home-and-home series.
