Philadelphia Eagles Trade For CB Darius Slay

After a series of tweets expressing his displeasure, the Detroit Lions have moved cornerback Darius Slay out of the Motor City. News broke early on Thursday that the Lions had agreed to trade Slay to the Philadelphia Eagles in exchange for both a third and fifth-round pick in 2020.

The only piece that Philadelphia needed to work out was inking the three-time Pro Bowler to a contract extension. Howie Roseman managed to do just that.  Slay will sign a three-year, $50 million contract extension that includes $30 million in guaranteed money.

The Eagles had a quiet offseason until they pulled off the Slay deal. Slay will slot in as a starter on Doug Pederson’s defense the moment he touches down in the City of Brotherly Love.

The finger wagging showboater will no doubt provide the Eagles defensive unit with some much-needed secondary help. Slay has been shutdown for years on his end of the field, as he has gone one-on-one with the best in the league.
