The Los Angeles Rams revealed on Monday new team logos and colors debuting in the upcoming 2020-21 NFL season. The rebranding is the result of efforts by the franchise during the offseason since the return to LA in 2016. St. Louis was home to the franchise for 21 seasons.
The late Georgia Frontiere, majority owner, moved the franchise to the Gateway City in 1995 after 48 seasons in LA. Majority owner Stan Kroenke was a major pusher of the return move, resulting in much hatred from St. Louis fans.
“We have studied every look of the Los Angeles Rams over our history — the blues, the yellows, the whites, the helmets, and the Ram horns — for inspiration,” Rams chief operating officer Kevin Demoff said. “Our goal is to weave together this history into a new, modern look for the Los Angeles Rams, respecting our past and representing our future.”
As reported by UPI’s Connor Grott, four new logos were unveiled, including a design resembling a widely-criticized version leaked earlier this month. The leaked version was navy blue with neon yellow accents.
The new logo features “LA” in white letters with a yellow Rams horn coming off the “A”. The franchise’s new colors are “Rams Royal” blue and “Sol” bright yellow, with some white featured in the new look.
The Rams kick off their inaugural season inside SoFi Stadium, with construction expected to conclude later this year. Additionally, the Los Angeles Chargers are co-tenants of the venue and will serve as host of WrestleMania 37 in 2021.
New uniforms are pending a reveal later this spring.
