Defensively, Dade County has struggled, allowing 36 points per game. The Wolverines’ defense has managed one sack and one forced fumble but has yet to record an interception, a statistic that could play a significant role against LaFayette’s proficient passing game.
The Ramblers, led by senior quarterback K. Finley, have been productive through the air, with Finley completing 76.9% of his passes for 278 yards. Junior wide receiver P. Sentell has been a key target, collecting 100 receiving yards on eight catches. On the ground, Finley and junior D. Edwards have combined for 119 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
LaFayette’s defense has allowed 28 points per game and 228.5 total yards per contest. While they have yet to record a sack, their plus-one turnover margin indicates a disciplined and opportunistic defense that could capitalize on Dade County’s mistakes.
With both teams hungry for their first win, tonight’s game in LaFayette will be a test of wills. The Wolverines’ ground game will face off against the Ramblers’ aerial attack, and the outcome may hinge on which team can better execute their game plan.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at LaFayette High School.
