It’s Official: ESPN 8 is Coming to Your Living Room

ESPN has announced a special network event, covering weird and whacky sporting events, will be moved up to March instead of the regularly scheduled August date. The sports giant is hoping to help fill the void in our lives in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dozens of unusual sporting events will find their way onto major airtime during this period. The bottom of this article is a full schedule of events to be broadcast.

Some of the “events” to be televised include the following:

• 2019 Spikeball College Championship
• World Axe Throwing League
• The Stone Skipping Championship
• 2019 Jelle’s Marble Runs
• 2007 World Sport Stacking Championships

“No, it’s not the eighth of August, or the eighth of anything or even August at all. That is the magic ESPN8: The Ocho. There is always a place for a full 24-hours of seldom seen sports so Sunday, March 22 on ESPN2 will be just that, a full day of exciting content from Ocho stunts past,” said an ESPN News release
