Detroit Lions WR Marvin Jones Announces Tragic Passing of Six-Month-Old Son

Detroit Lions wide receiver Marvin Jones took to Instagram to break the devastating news of the passing of his 6-month-old son, Marlo.

“Yesterday the Lord called home a piece of my family’s heart, Marlo,” wrote Jones in the post. You can read the full post below.

Marlo went on to share how much his son meant to him and his family.

Lions fans were also devastated to learn the news of the passing of Marlo.

Marlo was Marvin’s youngest of 5 children.

Many from around the NFL offered their support for Jones.

The Lions released the following statement on Twitter:

Despite the Lions’ struggles, Jones has been enjoying a good season.

He had 779 receiving yards and nine touchdowns in 13 games before moving to the injured reserve with an ankle injury.
