Cops, the famous and long-running television program, has been pulled off the airwaves after 31 consecutive seasons. Paramount Network states the cancellation of the show was in result from backlash over the murder of George Floyd.

Cops first broadcast on Fox back in 1989. The show continued on air until 2013. The Paramount Network later picked up the program and ran it until Monday.

“Cops is not on the Paramount Network and we don’t have any current or future plans for it to return,” a network spokesperson said

The show featured police officers from around the United States operating in their day to day environments. Cameras captured wild action, from unreal domestic situations, to chases and shootings.

Another police TV show, ‘Live PD,’ was also pulled off air from A&E as a part of the backlash. Cops has yet to tweet out any information regarding the discontinuation of their program.

Cops was slated to start its 33rd season on the Paramount Network last Monday.
