KINGSPORT, Tenn. (NSBN) — With three days of action in the books at the 2025 Appalachian Athletic Conference Softball Tournament, the field is beginning to narrow at Brickyard Ball Fields. Eight teams remain in the hunt for the conference crown, and Thursday’s schedule promises high drama with championship implications and win-or-go-home stakes.

Wednesday’s quarterfinals delivered in a big way, with tight games, dramatic upsets, and standout performances across the board. In the day’s opener, Columbia International University kept its season alive with a 7–3 win over Montreat College, eliminating the Cavaliers. Bryan College followed with a 6–1 victory over Columbia College (SC), bouncing back from a tough first-round loss and sending the Koalas home in the process.
The afternoon saw a thrilling nine-inning contest between Johnson University (Tenn.) and top-seeded Reinhardt University, with Johnson pulling off an 8–3 win to remain unbeaten in the tournament. In the final game of the day, Brenau University continued its strong run with a 7–4 win over Tennessee Wesleyan University, advancing to the winner’s bracket final.
