App State’s Pre Stanley Lands on NCAA Starting Five

Pre Stanley has been named to NCAA.com’s Starting Five for her performance against Georgia State. Stanley joins Charli Collier (Texas), Naz Hillmon (Michigan), Cece Hooks (Ohio), and fellow Sun Belt opponent, Alexus Dye (Troy).

The Rockledge, Florida, native dominated Georgia State averaging 27.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 4.0 steals, 3.0 assists, shot 64.5 percent from the field, and 93.3 percent from the line.

She played a pivotal role in the Apps registering their first Sun Belt sweep of the season, first league road sweep since 2015-16, and season-long three-game win streak.

Stanley had a hand in 53.2 percent of the team’s points (73/137) through the two contests with 55 points and all six assists going for 3-pointers for 18 points. Stanley posted game-highs in points in both contests.

The lead guard for the Apps was also named the Sun Belt Player of the Week and the National Mid-Major Player of the Week by College Sports Madness.

Stanley is having a stellar season, where she is averaging career highs in scoring (17.4 ppg), field goal percentage (.500), 3-point field goal percentage (.550), free throw percentage (.761), and assists per game (2.6).

She enters this upcoming weekend second in the Sun Belt in scoring and fourth in field goal percentage. She is making her way up the all-time scoring list, as she is eighth all-time with 1,403 points.
