All Elite Wrestling (AEW) officials announced Friday on Twitter that two more scheduled venues for Dynamite in early April have been rescheduled.
As previously reported, AEW rescheduled upcoming stops in Rochester, N.Y. and Newark, N.J. as a result of the COVID-19 coronavirus epidemic, originally scheduled for March 18 and 25 respectively.
Milwaukee show on April 1 postponed
AEW announced that their April 1 stop in Milwaukee at the UWM Panther Arena will be rescheduled.
Officials stated that fans who purchased tickets to the Milwaukee show will be offered a refund through their point of purchase.
Fans can bring their original ticket to be valid for admission to the show on October 28, with details forthcoming.
St. Louis show on April 8 postponed
Also announced was the postponement of their April 8 stop at Chaifetz Arena in St. Louis.
Ticket holders can receive a refund through their point of purchase. Fans can bring their original ticket for valid admission to the October 7 show, with additional details to come.
Where is AEW running their weekly Dynamite shows?
The City of Jacksonville, Fla. has closed down city facilities, which have implications on TIAA Bank Field and the adjacent Daily’s Place Amphitheatre. Jacksonville Mayor Lenny Curry was unavailable for comment.
AEW was still planning earlier this evening to run empty arena shows for the next month, according to Wrestling Observer’s Dave Meltzer.
Initial plans included members of the media, but officials would later relay that no media will be allowed.
Meltzer believes AEW could tape two to three shows in one day, but that would be a short-term fix. Further actions by the company will need implementation before things could get worse.
Meltzer was unavailable for comment following an inquiry on Twitter.
Pre-taped shows will likely be the route AEW takes for the next month. AEW filmed an episode of Dynamite aboard the Rock ‘N’ Wrestling cruise in the Bahamas, airing on January 22.
AEW President Tony Khan and co-executive vice president Cody Rhodes were unavailable for comment as of press time.
UPDATE: AEW’s Jacksonville plans
With the city shutdown underway, it leaves AEW fans wondering how they’ll get their Dynamite fix.
Sports journalist Brian Bell told me that AEW’s plans are to still hold the shows in an empty arena setting in Jacksonville.
Bell notes that the city officials have the final say in the situation. The City of Jacksonville did not provide any qualifiers pertaining to the suspension of all events held in city-owned venues.
Bell also adds that he is uncertain as to whether Tony Khan or other officials were working with the City to hold television tapings inside an empty Daily’s. However, the city and mayor appeared to be straight-forward on limiting any non-essential gatherings within city facilities.
