The Alliance of American Football has suspended operations just eight weeks into its inaugural season. This has left many players unemployed and with crushed dreams of making a living playing professional football. However, it has left them eligible to sign with NFL teams, which some of the best athletes already have. The AAF’s demise is bizarrely timed. It came with two weeks left in the regular season, and just six weeks after Tom Dundon, owner of the Carolina Hurricanes NHL franchise, took charge. Dundon promised $250 million before pulling the plug on the first year league.
While the AAF’s season was short lived, the developmental league did still provide some players with the opportunity to shine. One thing fans loved, was the goal to drive talent to the NFL. Some of the talent listed below could very well end up making an NFL roster this year for the regular season. The AAF has already authorized its players to sign with NFL clubs if they receive an offer. Below is each player who has signed with an NFL team since it announced its suspension.
