The No. 2 Adrian College women’s ice hockey team blanked Trine University on the road Friday evening in a Northern Collegiate Hockey Association battle. The Bulldogs have now recorded 21 unanswered goals.

AC posted a goal in each period to record its sixth win of the season. Scoring in the first period was Maggie Mitter, who’s eventual game-winner was helped along Jacqueline White and Jessica VonRuden in the 7th minute.

A whole new trio of Bulldogs made the stat sheet in the middle stanza, as Une Bjelland extended their lead to two goals. The leading scorer from the freshman class, who now has three goals, was assisted by upperclassmen Nicole Guagliardo and Maya Tupper in the first six minutes. Owning the final tally of the game, assisted by Jaden Rilei and Kelly O’Sullivan, was VonRuden for her second point of the game. The sophomore’s goal came at 12:58 in third period.

In goal for the Bulldogs was Denisa Jandova, making 24 saves en route to her third-consecutive shutout. Adrian led the shot count 37-24 and faceoff category 26-24.

They play again tonight.
