Following the release of shocking footage where he punches a youth football player, Gerrell Williams will never coach football again. The youth football coach is facing criminal charges for striking one of his 9-year-old players.
The team was competing at the 2020 American Youth Football National Championships AA Div 1-7U tournament in Kissimmee, Florida. The mother of the boy opted not to press charges against her son’s coach.
The Osceola County Sheriff’s Office along with local state attorney’s office have reviewed this case and the decided to file child abuse charges for his actions regardless of the decision of the guardian of the victim.
“The actions of this person are despicable and there is zero tolerance when it comes to the abuse of a child,” Jacob Ruizsaid said in a statement Friday. Watch the shocking footage of the attack below.
