The Adrian College women’s hockey team hosted the College of St. Scholastica Saints in the NCHA Tournament championship game. The Bulldogs came away with a 4-0 shutout. The Bulldogs scored in every period, and with the win Adrian receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
The Bulldogs started the scoring in the first period with a goal from Abbie Grias. Brooke Schembri and Lexi Grunden picked up assists on the goal.

At 7:09 in the second period, Maggie Mitter found the back of the net to give Adrian a 2-0 lead. Jessica VonRuden and Jacqueline White added assists on the Bulldogs’ second goal.
The third period was scoreless until late. Trailing 2-0, St. Scholastica was forced to pull its goalie. Mitter scored an empty netter for her second goal of the game to lead 3-0. Two minutes later, Schembri found the empty net and made the final score 4-0.

Denisa Jandova made 28 saves on the day to record another shutout. This is the fifth consecutive NCHA Tournament Championship for the Bulldogs. The conference announced the All-Tournament Team after the championship game. The Bulldogs had four named to the All-Tournament team along with the Tournament MVP. Grias, Schembri, Jandova, and Kelly O’Sullivan were named to the All-Tournament Team with Jandova named as the MVP.
The Bulldogs await their NCAA Tournament open and game information which will be released in the NCAA Division III Women’s Hockey selection show on Monday.
