Siena Heights Surges Past Saint Francis in Home Opener

ADRIAN, Mich. | MWSN.net | September 15th, 2025 — The Siena Heights football team scored 17 fourth-quarter points en route to a 24-21 victory over Saint Francis on Saturday at O’Laughlin Stadium.

Braylen Himmelein completed 22 of 31 passes for 322 yards, one touchdown and one interception. His go-ahead touchdown pass went to Credell Prather.

Brendan Haisenleder and Jaylen Flowers added touchdown runs. Haisenleder rushed 13 times for 39 yards and Flowers carried four times for 32.

Four different SHU receivers had four-or-more receptions, led by Tendaji Alexander‘s six grabs for 89 yards. Prather had five for 59, Kendrick McBride caught four balls for 76 yards and Troy West made four catches for 71.

Jalen Edwards was the defense’s leading tackler with 12 stops and a forced fumble.

As a unit, the defense had five sacks with A.J. Knox getting two, Greg Predina and Clark Hamilton recording one each, and both Xavier Hall and Jayden Giles with a half-sack.

Hamilton had 11 tackles, including two for-loss, and a fumble recovery.

Joe Nemecek finished with 10 tackles, including 1 1/2 for-loss, and Johnny Habash was in on seven tackles.

Mike Harrison III recorded an interception.

Trailing 7-0 in the second quarter, SHU finished off a 5-play, 53-yard drive, on a 5-yard run by Haisenleder, helping itself to a 7-7 halftime tie.

SHU trailed 14-7 early in the fourth quarter before turning the game in a matter of plays.

Carter Ball connected on a 22-yard field goal, the Saints recovered an onside kick and, then, Himmelein found West on a 44-yard pass to set up SHU in the red zone. Two throws to Prather — one a 5-yarder and then a 7-yarder for a touchdown — and SHU had a 14-10 lead with 8:48 to go.

Flowers had a 1-yard TD run with 6:25 left before the Fighting Saints pulled within 24-21 with 3:32 remaining.

Siena Heights sealed the victory on a Predina sack and Hamilton recovery.
