Siena Heights Approves Fall Competition for SHU Teams

Siena Heights University has decided to allow select sports to compete during the fall 2020 season.Β Football, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s golf, and men’s and women’s cross country will begin competition this fall as long as the university feels it is safe and in line with state and local guidelines.

Women’s volleyball will be moved to the Spring 2021 season to continue to abide by Governor Whitmer’s executive order regarding the use of indoor facilities. All fall sport seasons will conclude in Spring 2021 with the conference and national championships.

The SHU Esports program is currently waiting on a determination from the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC). All athletic teams will be able to practice outdoors in a safe space that abides by social distancing requirements and active executive orders.

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC), and Siena Heights University have yet to decide on winter and spring sports.
