CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (MWSN) — Sage Hill Investors (SHI) and Chattanooga Football Club (CFC) celebrated the groundbreaking of CFC’s new headquarters at 1620 Riverfront Parkway today. The 65,000-square-foot facility will feature retail, office space, apartments, a restaurant, and a rooftop bar.

Dubbed “Project Starball” in honor of the central design element of CFC’s logo since 2009, the development marks a significant milestone for both the club and the city.

“Launching a development like this in our backyard aligns with the growth of Chattanooga Football Club and is a strategic investment we can all be proud of,” said Davis Grizzard, CFC Owner and President of Sage Hill Investors. “It’s for Chattanooga’s team, our city, and this neighborhood.”

CFC CEO Alton Byrd expressed optimism about the project’s impact. “This event and this project signify a bright future for Chattanooga Football Club, our first teams, our academy, our staff, and our partners,” Byrd said.

The project, first announced in May, quickly advanced to the groundbreaking stage after a year of planning. This follows CFC’s integration into the Major League Soccer enterprise as an independent club of MLS NEXT Pro in November.

“As we continue to build our league, CFC remains a crucial part of our foundation,” said Charles Altchek, President of MLS NEXT Pro.

Chattanooga Mayor and CFC Co-founder Tim Kelly also attended the ceremony, highlighting the development’s importance for both the city and the club.

Located within walking distance of CFC’s home field at Finley Stadium, Project Starball will include office space for staff and coaches, apartments for players, a training facility, retail space, a restaurant, and a rooftop bar. Major partners in the project include FTC Development, River Street Architecture, and Modus Build. The development is scheduled for completion in January 2026.
