LaFayette Ramblers Ready for 2024-25 Football Season

LAFAYETTE, GA. (MWSN) — The LaFayette High School football team is gearing up for an exciting 2024-25 season under the leadership of new head coach Ethan Thompson. Sporting their iconic black and orange colors, the Ramblers are set to compete in the AAA Region 7 Division of Georgia Class AAA, aiming to improve on last year’s record.

The Ramblers’ season kicks off on August 16 with an away game against Chattooga in Summerville, GA. This opening match sets the stage for the season and offers LaFayette a chance to repeat last year’s victory over Chattooga, where they won 28-3. Following this, LaFayette will host Gordon Lee on August 23 and Dade County on August 30, both games promising to ignite the home crowd at LaFayette High School.

LaFayette’s home schedule also includes matchups against Trion on September 13, Ridgeland on September 27, Gilmer on October 11, and a high-stakes game against Calhoun on November 1 to close out the regular season. Away games include trips to Adairsville on September 20, Northwest Whitfield on October 4, and Heritage on October 18.

Last season, the Ramblers finished with a 3-7 overall record and a 2-5 mark in their region. Highlights from the previous year include a season-opening victory against Chattooga and a dominant 21-0 win over Ridgeland in the final game. The Ramblers’ home performance was notably stronger, with a 2-2 record at LaFayette High School.

The LaFayette Ramblers’ games will be broadcast live on WQCH 93.7 FM and AM 1590, with Gabriel Schray providing play-by-play commentary. Fans can catch all the action from the field both on-air and online via WQCH’s live stream. Pregame coverage begins 20 minutes before kickoff, ensuring fans are well-prepared for each game.
