Four Star Basketball Recruit Jeremiah Johnson in Critical Condition After Being Shot

Jeremiah Johnson, a sophomore guard at Putnam North, is in critical condition Tuesday morning after being shot twice. Total Pro Sports reported the news Tuesday morning and said he had already undergone surgery.

A Facebook post from his mother indicated he had two bullets removed during the operation. His coach, Ryan Wagner, told The Oklahoman that Johnson was in critical condition following the incident.

Details about the shooting are unclear at this time.

Johnson is the top-rated prospect in the state’s 2023 class and is ranked in the top 20 nationally. He has scored over 20 points per game while leading the Class 6A third-ranked Panthers to a 9-3 record to this point in the season

His team’s game scheduled for tonight against Midwest City has been canceled. Bradley Beal, who plays for the Washington Wizards, also tweeted at Johnson. Jeremiah plays on Beal’s AAU team.
