CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (MWSN) – The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga (UTC) women’s soccer team is gearing up for an exciting 2024 season with a blend of challenging non-conference matchups and competitive Southern Conference (SoCon) clashes. Following a solid 2023 campaign, which saw the Mocs finish 10-7-1 overall and 4-4-1 in conference play, head coach Gavin McKinney and his squad are looking to build on their successes and make a deeper run in the postseason.

The Mocs will commence their season with an exhibition match against Western Kentucky on August 5 in Bowling Green, Ky. This will be followed by another exhibition contest at home against Murray State on August 8 at Finley Stadium.

The official season opener will take place on August 15, as the Mocs travel to Atlanta to face Georgia State. The team will then head to Knoxville to battle in-state rival Tennessee on August 18, before hitting the road again to Clarksville for a game against Austin Peay on August 22.

Chattanooga will host their first home game of the regular season on August 25, welcoming the Alabama Crimson Tide to Finley Stadium. This highly anticipated match will be a crucial test for the Mocs early in the season.

The non-conference schedule continues with a home game against Xavier on August 29, followed by a trip to Jacksonville State on September 1. The Mocs will then return to Finley Stadium to host Tennessee Tech on September 5.

As the season progresses, Chattanooga will face Belmont in Nashville on September 15 before diving into SoCon play. The Mocs will kick off their conference schedule on the road against Wofford on September 19 in Spartanburg, S.C.

Key SoCon home games include matchups against Samford on September 22, UNC Greensboro on September 29, East Tennessee State on October 6, The Citadel on October 10, and Western Carolina on October 27. The Mocs will also face Mercer, Furman, and VMI on the road in October.

The 2024 schedule is designed to test the Mocs with a mix of strong non-conference opponents and rigorous SoCon play, providing ample opportunities for the team to demonstrate their growth and competitiveness.

Fans can catch all home games at Finley Stadium, where the Mocs will look to capitalize on their home-field advantage. With a blend of experienced upperclassmen and promising newcomers, UTC is poised for a memorable season.
