The most decorated athlete in Adrian College history has been selected in the NWHL draft by the Buffalo Beauts. The Bulldogs’ Kelly O’Sullivan, was the first four-time All-American in Adrian College history and is the third four-time first team All-American in Division III women’s hockey history.

She rounded out her senior season with four goals and 22 assists. The 22 assists put her in the top-25 all-time in career assists for NCAA Division III and second among defensemen. She is the tenth women’s hockey player ever in the NCAA to be a four-time All-American and seventh ever in Division III.

119 Game Played | 29 Career Goals | 85 Career Assists

She is one of the best players to ever come through our program here at Adrian College and it’s very humbling to see her achieve one of her goals by continuing her career after college in the pro ranks – Adrian Head Coach Shawn Skelly

The Buffalo Beauts are based in Amherst, New York. The team was established in 2015 as one of the four founding franchises of the National Women’s Hockey League. They play at Northtown Center in the Buffalo suburb of Amherst.

Buffalo is in need of some defensive help, and will surely receive a tremendous amount from the lockdown Bulldog defender. Buffalo allowed 116 goals last year and finished 8-15. They’ll be counting on O’Sullivan making it much more dangerous to drive on their net. Which she will.

O’Sullivan is now the 6th hockey player from Adrian College’s women’s team to go pro. She will become the 5th player to play for the Buffalo Beauts organization. Adrian College alumni Hannah McGowan, Sarah Shureb, Kaylyn Schroka, & Kristin Lewicki all have also played for Buffalo.

Kelly is the first athlete in Adrian College’s 150 years of athletic history in any sport, male or female, to become a four-time first team All-American, solidifying herself as one of the best, if not the best athlete ever to ever attend Adrian College – Adrian Head Coach Shawn Skelly

In addition to the AHCA All-American accomplishment, O’Sullivan helped lead her team to a conference regular season title and a Slaats Cup title to put them into the NCAA Tournament. O’Sullivan was also named to the NCHA All-Conference list, NCHA All-Tournament list, and was named the NCHA Player of the Year. O’Sullivan was also marked as a finalist for the Laura Hurd Award which goes to the women’s hockey Player of the Year.
