Coaches and players are fighting back in the face of potential cancellation of the Big Ten football season. Reports broke on Monday morning that the decision had been made and an announcement would be coming on Tuesday.
The Big Ten features Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers, Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, Northwestern, Purdue, and Wisconsin.

More than a dozen players, all from Power Five conferences, released a statement saying they want to play in 2020. The biggest name to join the movement was Clemson quarterback and Heisman Trophy candidate Trevor Lawrence.
Among those backing the players is President Donald Trump.

NJ Advance Media’s Keith Sargeant was allegedly told by a Big Ten spokesperson that “no vote” has been held by the conference presidents and chancellors. That remains unconfirmed as well at this time.
ESPN reports commissioners of the Power Five conferences (Big Ten, Big 12, ACC, SEC, Pac-12) held an emergency meeting on Sunday. Nationally-syndicated sports talk host Dan Patrick reported Monday morning that the Pac-12 could join the Big Ten in canceling the 2020 season on Tuesday.
