HUNTSVILLE, Alab. (MWSN) — Chattanooga FC will look to extend its unbeaten streak against Huntsville City FC as the two Southeast Division rivals meet for the third and final time this season on Saturday night at Wicks Family Field at Joe Davis Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT.

Chattanooga FC enters the match with confidence, having secured five of a possible six points against Huntsville City FC earlier in the season. The two teams played to a thrilling 2-2 draw on March 16 at Finley Stadium, with Chattanooga earning an extra point after winning the shootout. The second meeting on April 20 saw Chattanooga claim a 1-0 victory on the road, marking the club’s first-ever away win in MLS NEXT Pro.

Chattanooga’s recent form has been strong, with the team taking five points from its last two home matches, including a shootout victory against Toronto FC II. Sporting Director and Head Coach Rod Underwood emphasized the importance of not underestimating Huntsville despite their current record. “Their record does not indicate the talent that they have,” Underwood said. “It will be a tough match. They’ve made a lot of adjustments, and with a new coach coming in, they’ll be energetic and excited.”

Huntsville City FC will be led by newly appointed head coach Chris O’Neal, who will make his debut on the sideline after joining the club from Inter Miami CF’s U-17 team earlier this week. Huntsville has faced challenges this season, with their most recent outing resulting in a draw and shootout loss against Crown Legacy FC. Despite the struggles, Huntsville will be buoyed by the energy of their home crowd and a special “I Heart Huntsville” night, which will include the club’s first-ever fireworks show after the match.

Huntsville’s Captain, Jonathan Bolanos, tops the charts in assists (5), shots on target (16), and key passes (43). Bolanos is set to make history as the first Huntsville player to start 40 matches for the club.

In their previous encounters this season, Chattanooga has outscored Huntsville 3-2 and will aim to capitalize on Huntsville’s defensive vulnerabilities, with the hosts having conceded 38 goals, the highest in the division. However, with O’Neal at the helm, Huntsville is expected to bring fresh tactics and renewed vigor to the pitch.
