CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (MWSN) β The East Hamilton Hurricanes are gearing up for another exciting high school football season, aiming to build on last year’s performance. The team finished the 2023-24 season with a 6-5 overall record and a 3-2 mark in the district, placing fourth in the competitive 5A Region 4. Despite a strong start, the Hurricanes’ season ended in disappointment with a first-round playoff loss to Oak Ridge.
This year’s squad is eager to improve on last season’s campaign, which featured notable victories against Franklin County, East Ridge, Howard Tech, Ooltewah, and Walker Valley. The Hurricanes demonstrated resilience and talent but fell short in crucial late-season and playoff matchups. Head Coach John Smith is confident that the experience gained last year will be invaluable as they prepare for the new season.

The Hurricanes will then hit the road for three consecutive away games, facing Marion County, Franklin County, and McMinn County, the latter being their first district contest of the season. The team’s first district home game is scheduled for September 27 against Howard Tech.
