Siena Heights University Names Sue Syljebeck Athletic Director

The Siena Heights University athletic department has reorganized administrative roles in the organization’s structure. Sue Syljebeck has dropped the interim tag in her title and became the Athletic Director as of January 1st, 2020.

Women’s soccer head coach, Scott Oliver, has been promoted to the assistant athletic director in addition to his coaching role. The final administrative change was Kate Daisher added the title of compliance coordinator in addition to her role as manager of athletic operations.

Syljebeck has been a part of the Siena Heights community for the past 16 years as the women’s basketball coach.

A promotion to associate Athletic Director came just a few years afterwards. She then transitioned into the interim Athletic Director role in May of 2019.

“I’m excited to have officially taken over this position,” Sue said

“We have such a rich tradition of athletics on this campus, and to be able to work with the talented coaches we have makes the job even easier,” she continued.

Oliver joined the Siena Heights athletic department in 2001 as the head coach of women’s soccer. He served as the Sports Information Director from 2001-2011. He stepped down to an assistant role in the sports information department when the university added a full-time sports information director position in 2011.

“I am really excited to step into this new role,” Oliver stated

“I love this university and athletic department and cherish the opportunity to start leading the discussion of where we go in the future,” continued Oliver. ” I thank Sue Syljebeck for believing in me and for the support I have received from other staff to pursue this avenue.”

Daisher was added to Siena Heights athletics in 2015 as a manager of athletic operations. She has helped lead the compliance and eligibility needs for the athletic department since that time.

“I enjoy working with students and am excited to continue to help athletes with their eligibility needs,” said Kate. “I look forward to the opportunities that will come with the new Compliance Coordinator role.”
