Japan has unveiled a new design for the bullet train. It will now feature an increased top speed and the unique ability to safely run through an earthquake.
The N700S is the newest innovation in rail travel; according to the company website, the ‘S’ stands for ‘Supreme’, to ‘signify the progression in design, technology, and comfort.’ It’s now the fastest train on the market, with the ability to run at 206 miles-per-hour.
There are comfier seats that recline further, power outlets at every seat in the 16 cars, more relaxing interior lighting, and reservation-only storage areas for long-haul riders.
