Warrants have been issued for the arrests ofΒ New York Giants cornerback DeAndre Baker and Seattle Seahawks cornerback Quinton Dunbar. The Miramar, Florida police department issued the warrants following an incident that occurred on Wednesday, May 13th.
Baker has been charged with four counts of armed robbery with a firearm and four counts of aggravated assault with a firearm while Dunbar has been charged with four counts of armed robbery.
According to the police department, Baker took money and watches from victims. He allegedly used force and was armed with a semi-automatic firearm. Dunbar reportedly assisted Baker in taking the money and valuables from the attendees at a party in Miramar, Broward County.
Both Baker and Dunbar are believed to have taken three or more timepieces, including an $18,000 Rolex watch and a Hublot worth $25,000. Baker and Dunbar also took over $7,000 in cash.
A spokesperson for the Miramar Police told ESPN there have been discussions with at least one of the player’s representatives about turning himself in, but neither have done so at this time.
One witness told police Baker and Dunbar lost over $70,000 at a party in Miami days earlier while gambling. Another witness said those involved in the robbery all left in three different vehicles, a Mercedes Benz, a Lamborghini and a BMW.
The argument allegedly started over a gambling dispute.Β The Giants have also released a statement on Dunbar’s arrest.Β “We are aware of the situation. We have been in contact with DeAndre. We have no further comment at this time,” said the statement.
